For the pasta:

250g spaghetti or linguine

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/4 cup reserved pasta water

For the shrimp:

500 grams of shrimp (peeled and prepared)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 garlic cloves (chopped)

1 teaspoon red chili flakes (to taste)

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper (to taste)

Juice of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Optional Toppings:

Grated Parmesan cheese

Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.

Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining. Drizzle the cooked pasta with olive oil and set aside.

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Toss in the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are fully cooked.

Season the shrimp with red chili flakes, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  1. Make the Sauce:

Squeeze the lemon juice over the shrimp and stir well. Add the reserved pasta water to the skillet and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to create a light sauce.

  1. Combine Everything:

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it with the shrimp and sauce until well coated. Let it heat through for 1-2 minutes.

  1. Garnish and Serve:

Sprinkle chopped parsley over the pasta. Add optional grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
